Privacy Policy — Frostie: Milk Stash Tracker
1. Summary
Frostie: Milk Stash Tracker ("Frostie", "the app") logs your pumping sessions and the milk you store. Everything stays on your phone. There is no account and no server. We never receive what you log. It leaves your phone only if you export it. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in the app.
2. What the app stores, and where
In a database inside the app's private storage on your device:
- pumping sessions: start time, duration, and amounts (left, right or total) if you enter them;
- your milk stash: bags, amounts, where they are stored (fridge, freezer, deep freezer), dates, and whether a bag was used, moved, thawed or discarded;
- settings: pumps per day, night pumps, units (oz/ml), storage times, your baby's daily intake if you enter it, and your reminder choice.
Expressing and storing breast milk can reveal information about your health and your baby's. We treat it as health information, even though we never receive it.
Automatic copies on your phone. To protect you from losing your log if the database file is damaged, the app keeps up to three recent copies of the database, and keeps a damaged file aside instead of deleting it. These copies stay inside the app's private storage on the same phone.
Backups are turned off. The app excludes its data from iCloud/computer backups (iPhone) and from Google cloud backup and device-to-device transfer (Android). If you delete the app or move to a new phone, your log does not come with you and we cannot recover it. Use Export CSV to keep a copy.
3. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders on your phone: your next pump, a weekly "your summary is ready" message (Sundays), and a reminder before stored milk expires. They are created by the app on your device — no server is involved. Reminder texts do not show amounts. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
4. When information leaves your phone — only when you choose
- Export CSV (Settings → Data): creates a spreadsheet file of your sessions and bags and opens your phone's share sheet. You decide where it goes. The receiving app or person handles it under their own terms.
- Raw data file: if the database cannot be opened, the app offers to share a copy of the raw database file so you can keep it safe.
We do not see, receive or store anything you export.
5. What we collect
Nothing. The app does not send your information, identifiers, usage data, crash reports or location to us or to any third party. It contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting or sign-in services and does not use the advertising identifier.
6. Sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information and do not use it for advertising. Apple and Google may collect information about your download and use of apps under their own privacy policies.
7. Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete any pumping session; use, move or discard any bag (with undo).
- Delete everything: Settings → Data → Delete all data. After two confirmations, the app cancels all scheduled reminders and erases your log, its automatic copies, any damaged files kept aside, temporary export files and your settings, then starts again from setup. Deleting the app also deletes all of this from your phone.
- Because we hold no data about you, we cannot access, correct, export or delete anything for you. You can still contact us with any question.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you may complain to your data-protection supervisory authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information.
8. Security
Your log is kept in the app's private storage, protected by your phone's operating-system sandbox and device encryption. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app.
9. Children and age
The app is intended for adults. It is not directed to children and we do not collect information from anyone.
10. Medical disclaimer
The app records what you enter. It is not medical advice. Storage times are based on published guidance (for example CDC guidance); always check with your care provider.
11. Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled — for example purchases, analytics or cloud backup — we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent in the app before any new data leaves your phone.
