Privacy Policy — Pipou: Contraction Timer
1. Summary
Pipou: Contraction Timer ("Pipou", "the app") times your contractions and keeps the record only on your phone. We do not run a server for this app, we do not have accounts, and the app does not send what you record to us or to anyone else. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in the app.
2. What the app stores, and where
The app saves the following in its private storage on your device:
- the start and end times of each contraction you time, and any edits or deletions you make;
- the time you mark that your water broke, if you use that button;
- your chosen labor rule (5-1-1, 4-1-1 or 3-1-1);
- past timing sessions (history);
- app settings (for example "keep screen on", haptics, and that you have seen the first-launch notice);
- notes you add to a contraction, if you use that Premium feature;
- your custom rule's numbers and your chosen colour theme, if you use those Premium features;
- whether you have unlocked Premium (a yes/no flag, see section 3).
This information stays on your device. We never receive it.
Device backups are turned off for this data. The app excludes its data from iCloud/iTunes backups on iPhone and from Google cloud backup and device-to-device transfer on Android. This means that if you delete the app, reset your phone or move to a new phone, your contraction history will not come with you and cannot be recovered by us.
3. What we collect
Nothing. The app does not collect personal data, health data, device identifiers, usage data, crash reports or location, and does not transmit any of the information above off your device.
The app does not use:
- advertising or advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no Android Advertising ID);
- analytics, attribution or crash-reporting services;
- sign-in, accounts or cloud storage;
- push notifications.
PDF summary. If you export a PDF (Premium), the app creates it on your device from what you recorded, and opens the system share sheet. Where it goes (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, a print job) is your choice, and that app or service handles it under its own policy. We never receive the PDF. The temporary file is deleted as soon as the share sheet finishes.
Purchases. The app offers one optional, one-time purchase (Premium). It is handled entirely by the Apple App Store (or Google Play). Apple/Google process your payment under their own privacy policies; the app and we never see your name, Apple ID/Google account, card or other payment details, and we run no server that receives purchase information. The app only learns from the store whether the purchase exists, and keeps a yes/no "unlocked" flag on your device so Premium works offline. Core features (timer, alerts, "When to go now") never require a purchase.
The "keep screen on" feature only asks the operating system to keep the display awake while a session is active; it does not collect anything.
4. Information shared with third parties
None. Because we do not collect your information, we do not sell, rent, share or disclose it.
Apple and Google, as app store and operating-system providers, may collect information about your download and use of apps under their own privacy policies. We do not control that processing.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: Settings → Delete all data removes every file the app has stored: your contraction record, the water-broke time, your session history, your notes, your custom rule, your theme, your settings and the local "unlocked" flag. Your purchase itself belongs to your Apple ID/Google account; Restore purchases brings Premium back at no charge. Deleting the app removes all of its data, including settings.
- Because we hold no data about you, we cannot access, correct, export or delete anything on your behalf — it is entirely under your control on your device.
- Residents of the EU/EEA/UK, California and other regions have rights over personal data that a company holds about them. We hold none from this app, but you may contact us with any question.
6. Security
Your data is stored in the app's private storage area, protected by your phone's operating-system sandbox and device encryption. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app and see your record; please use a device passcode.
7. Children
The app is intended for adults who are pregnant or supporting someone in labor. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children (or from anyone).
8. Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled (for example analytics, accounts or cloud backup), we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and — where the law requires it — ask for your consent in the app before any new data leaves your device.
